Our School
There are nearly 70 children in our school, aged 4 to 11.

The younger children, Reception, Years 1 and 2 are taught in the oldest part of the school, dating back to 1822. The office, staff room and library are also in this building.

Year 3 up till 6 are taught in a modern annex which has 2 classrooms and a large conservatory area.

We have a beautiful apple orchard that we play in, and when the sun shines we sit under the trees branches for our lessons. An all-weather / netball pitch is available for play and sport and then our new decking area gives additional outside learning and leisure space.

A brief History
A school had probably been founded at Sheepscombe in 1822 and certainly by 1833 when it had 40 pupils. A new building was built at the west end of the village in 1873 but it was unsatisfactory and the school was transferred in 1880 to a former Sunday school building on the lane to Far End, which was enlarged. In 1910 the school had 62 pupils, but the average attendance had declined to 18 by 1936. In 1972 there were 33 children on the roll.
