Eagle Class
Eagle Class
Eagle caters for Years 5 to Year 6. We are based in the large classroom in the old part of the school, with access to the outdoors and the adjacent Orchard to support our learning outside the classroom. Every week we have PE with Atlas Sports and develop our sporting skills. Also we have staff from the Music Hub and Gloucestershire Music visit and we learn a range of instruments including Ipads for Garage Band. We use Ebworth for Forest school sessions on alternate Thursdays.
The class teachers are Mr Robert Gardner and Mr Jon Ringer.

Stroud Mock Trial
Spring 2023
Eagles took part in the Stroud Mock Trial which this year was held in the Stroud Council Chambers which added an additional level of realism. We were the Prosecution this time involving a knife crime and we had roles from Magistrates, Prosecution, Legal Advisor, Witnesses, Youth Service to name but a few. The class had a great time producing questions and answers in their various roles. Everyone who took part dressed in smart jackets, ties and posh dresses. We were successful with our prosecution and the defendant was found guilty.
The Tudors
Spring 2023
As part of our Tudor Theme, Eagle Class got the chance to be involved in a photographic opportunity with Catherine Harder. She was able to give the class the taste of a photographic studio with lights, camera and backdrop. The Class brought in Tudor costumes and had a great time posing while holding Tudor objects. The objects were on loan through Chloe Turner. The Class looked great in their outfits.
K'Nex Challenge
Spring 2023
In January, Eagle and part of Kestrel Class had a visit from Claire of STEMWORKS who challenged us to create a recycling model out of K’nex. She told us what STEMWORKS do and also how the Gloucestershire from waste facility works. We then built our own models and they were judged, Layla and Jessica won. They will go on to a further competition later in the year.
How to build a 'Shaduf'
Autumn 2022
We have been comparing modern and ancient farming techniques. Following some research we found out that the Egyptians used a ‘shaduf’ to get water out of the River Nile. It was a simple device that was made up of a tripod and a bucket on a rope. We had a go at building our own and used long cardboard tubes. We successfully lifted water out of the stream by the Village Hall.
